November Review
What's been happening at
Stable Design this month
The leaves on the trees are changing into the lovely autumn colour palette, the fires have been lit and the vitamin D tablets are out to keep those winter blues at bay. These last weeks we have gone from pumpkin picking to Christmas lights switch-ons, static images to animations and a new, fun photoshoot with some glorious footage to boot!

Oli
Creative Designer & Content Creation Apprentice
Oli comes to us as part of the Yeovil College Apprenticeship scheme. Before the apprenticeship, he was involved part-time with the Stable team on work experience.
Since starting, Oli has been helping us on a range of creative jobs and developing his professional skills. From promotional content design to exploring complex animation, he has hit the ground running! We’re excited for his future here.
“When I’m not sitting in front of the computers or trying to complete the never-ending list of things to do at home, I enjoy spending my time outside. Be that playing rugby or visiting National Trust areas with my other half.”

The Journey to Event Activation
Frogmary Green Farm
Frogmary Green Farm runs seasonal events that we help to promote. When the last pumpkin’s picked, it’s time to prepare for Frogmary’s Festive Lights! With their updated info, we rewrite their content and refresh their artwork.
Once signed off, the hard work begins! Everything must be consistent to save confusion. We create an event page and test the booking system. When it works without a hitch, we set it all live and scatter it across their site. 5,4,3,2,1 – it’s launch time.
We give Frogmary a fresh look across their social media channels, including banners and a seasonal profile picture. We create events and share posts to inform and intrigue everyone to come along to Frogmary’s Festive Lights. We’re also on hand to answer online questions, so Frogmary only has to worry about making the event the best it can be!
With the event over, we send out thanks and share lots of pictures. And then…. we begin again for their next seasonal event.

Brown & Forrest Smokery
Website Redesign
Over the last month, we have been working with Brown and Forrest Smokery to bring a new look and feel to their eCommerce website that matches the heritage and quality of their brand. Our aim was to create a clean design that would not distract from the beautiful imagery used throughout the online shop and website. We also needed to make the site easier to navigate and for users to be able to find and purchase their favourite products as simply as possible.
Whilst overhauling the design of the website, we ensured that a user would get the best possible experience regardless of the device they were using, so a lot of care and attention was put into making the website perform well on mobile phones and tablets.

Why the Adobe Creative Suite?
Professional Creative Applications
When a new customer comes through the door, we like to explain the creative packages we use and why we use them. With the world becoming increasingly digital, there are many creative applications to choose from. For me, The Adobe Creative Suite is at the top of our industry.
With my background in print, I have a strong relationship with The Creative Cloud Suite. Having used it for most of my creative career, I am still amazed at the amount available AND how it oh-so-smoothly transitioned from print to digital.
The applications are constantly evolving, and as much as I hate this term, it is true: “Every day is a school day.”
Quite often, a new customer will have done all their logo and design work in Photoshop or Procreate. They then run out of memory on their computer or they’ve used a demo font that just won’t print or doesn’t look anything like their original design.
To help, I’ve put together a guide to show you what app to use and when! I’ve gone through the list of all the adobe creative packages and how/when best to use them. I hope you find it useful!
Keep an eye out for future industry tips from our digital and marketing teams.
